In my opinion, Ryan Adams is one of the best songwriters and musicians of all time. At least, I think some of the music he has created is some of the greatest ever. Ryan Adams lyrics have a way of bringing back memories of different situations in my life. The words to each Ryan Adams song have a different meaning, and probably mean something different to each listener. Hell, even if you don't listen to the lyrics (you can't help not to), the music by itself is great listening. I think Ryan Adams is under-rated as an artist, but I shouldn't really say that, because he does have a huge cult-like following.
Ryan Adams music and lyrics can be described as many things, rock, rockabilly, country, alt-country, whatever you want. Ryan was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina in 1974 and dropped out of school at 16 years old to make music and work in a shoe shop.
Oh yeah, and please don't confuse Ryan Adams with Bryan Adams (the "Summer of 69" dude). Ryan had some guy ejected from a concert because the guy kept yelling requests for Bryan Adams songs. Ha!
Ryan Adams is known for being a little bit crazy, and I don't think he tries to hide that fact in any of his lyrics. His songs seem to reflect various times in his life, and I think that's the reason the lyrics hit so close to home for so many of his fans and listeners. Ryan Adams has created some great albums in his short career so far, wonderful music with great lyrics.
